'Ohana Swimwear™ Announces Sporty New 2004 Line

2004 Ohana Swimwear Line Offers a More Sporty Concept in Women’s Swimwear and Gathers Thanks from First-time wearers

PROVO, Utah, — (BUSINESS WIRE) — March, 2004 — `Ohana Swimwear, swimsuits that are made for swimming not sunbathing, announced today the`Ohana 2004 line available in May. Jackie Rawlins, the founder and owner of `Ohana Swimwear™ wanted a swimming suit that she could be comfortable wearing while being truly active in the water. Instead of waiting on the fashion industry to create something for her personally, Jackie decided to create her own line of swimwear inspired by the sporty look of the scuba and surf industry. `Ohana has taken the idea of a shorty wetsuit and combined it with a unitard to create stylish and sporty swimming suits.

According to Jackie Rawlins, any woman who has ever been to the beach, gone waterskiing with friends, or taken her children to swimming lessons has experienced feelings of self-consciousness about her swimming suit.

“Let's face it, most swimming suits are made more for sunbathing than swimming –more for displaying a supermodel body than for providing peace of mind for the average woman,” said Rawlins.  “`Ohana swim suits are beautiful but they are made so wearers can play in the water with peace of mind.”

In it's first year of operation, `Ohana currently offers 4 unique styles which share the common design element of short legs. Unlike the “boy short” legs available in some swimsuits, the slightly longer legs (7” inseam) in `Ohana's suits elongate the thighs by extending beyond the widest part of the leg and drawing the eye down toward the taper of the knee. These sporty suits are a far cry from the skirted suits and oversized shorts worn by many women who feel too exposed in a standard swimming suit. `Ohana has made it possible to be secure, comfortable and covered while looking stylish.

According to client, who at almost 40 had not worn a swimsuit in public since she had had four kids, was determined not to miss out on the swimming fun on her family vacation.

“I walked out in my new `Ohana swimsuit and my kids said, ‘mom, you look cool’ and I almost cried,” said a recent client from Phoenix, AZ  “ I played on the beach, did hand stands in the water and felt as cool as my kids said I looked.  My thanks to `Ohana, I can’t wait to see what they have out this year!”

`Ohana's 2004 line, offically available in May, will be expanded to include not only the one piece suits but separates geared around the “biker short” bottoms and elongated tanks designed to keep you covered even when you're active in the water. Sizes will also be expanded to include little girls from size 2T up through size 24 for women.

“I knew that I could create a suit with more modest coverage and still make it look good,” said Rawlins. “There are so many women who would like to spend more time in the water, but are uncomfortable and unsatisfied with the options they have in a swimming suit. Our suits cover you where you want to be covered AND look good on you so you can feel good and get back into the water!”

Ms. Rawlins is a stay-home mother of 4 and has never aspired to owning her own company. In fact, she chose the name `Ohana because it means family in Hawaiian.

According to Rawlins, it was her way of reminding herself what is most important, and that is her family. “I think our suits appeal to a wide range of women for a wide range of reasons,” said Rawlins. “But I think everyone appreciates a good value.” Ms. Rawlins is committed to providing a quality product at a price-point that is accessible to the average woman.

Ohana offers its suits primarily at it's website, www.ohanaswimwear.com. Although they can be purchased a select retail outlets.
