About 'Ohana
For years I have waited for swimsuit manufactures to create a swimsuit that was modest in it's cut and coverage, but still stylish. I finally got tired of waiting, and thought why not try and do it myself. It has been 10 years since I was working full-time in the retail business so, I wasn't quite sure where to start and what exactly I needed to do to make this dream happen. But being a mom of four, I have learned to rely on common sense and figured that was the best place to start. With a lot of questions, a little trial and error, and a lot of inspiration, 'Ohana Swimwear™ was born.
I named the company 'Ohana Swimwear because family is the most important thing in my life. I knew that seeing the name would remind me to remain focused on my priorities. But "Family Swimwear" didn't have the right island feel I wanted. The word 'Ohana means family in Hawiian. 'Ohana Swimwear was the perfect name!
By surrounding myself with smart and encouraging people, I think 'Ohana Swimwear will be around for years to come!
Our goals for the next few years are to expand slowly, eventually having a line for the entire family. Summer 2003 is our debut line. We are offering four completely different looks for women. We've designed each suit in 4 sizes. Our plans are to expand the line to include more women's styles, plus sizes, petite's, junior's, and little girls. Eventually we will finish out the family line with men and boys.
We are a small company with big ideas. We want to offer quality products at the best price possible. You will never find us using cheap material in any of our products.
